By accessing the website at connectedpapers.com, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this site. The materials contained in this website are protected by applicable copyright and trademark law.

Further, Connected Papers does not warrant or make any representations concerning the accuracy, likely results, or reliability of the use of the materials on its website or otherwise relating to such materials or on any sites linked to this site.

04. Limitations

In no event shall Connected Papers or its suppliers be liable for any damages (including, without limitation, damages for loss of data or profit, or due to business interruption) arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on Connected Papers' website, even if Connected Papers or a Connected Papers authorized representative has been notified orally or in writing of the possibility of such damage. Connectedpapers has not reviewed all of the sites linked to its website and is not responsible for the contents of any such linked site. The inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Connectedpapers of the site. Use of any such linked website is at the user's own risk.

07. Modifications

Connectedpapers may revise these terms of service for its website including but not limited to the fees and charges associated with the premium subscription at any time without notice. By using this website you are agreeing to be bound by the then current version of these terms of service.

08. Donations

Any donations or transfer of funds made to Connected Papers are voluntary and their purpose is to support ongoing website operations and development activity. Connected Papers is not registered as a charity and may earn profits from its activity.

09. Feedback

We appreciate your feedback and other suggestions about our Website. If you submit to us any feedback or suggestions, we may use and fully exploit them in any manner that we deem appropriate, without any restriction or obligation to compensate you. We will treat any feedback or other suggestions as non-confidential and non-proprietary. You should not submit to us any information or ideas that you consider to be confidential or proprietary.

10. User account and information

When you interact with the website, we may collect or receive the following types of information from you:

• Email address for the mailing list
• Information collected as part of the account creation such as your username, email address and password.
• Usage data such as log-in dates, pageviews, opened links, search queries, saved papers.
• Analytics data collected by Google Analytics.
• Lists of saved papers

We share your information with third-party vendors and service providers that help us with specialized services, including authentication, email communications, business analytics, data storage, and data processing.

We have the right (though not the obligation) to, in our sole discretion, refuse or remove any User Content that, in our reasonable opinion, is in any way harmful or objectionable; or terminate or deny access to and use of the Website to any individual or entity for any reason, in our sole discretion.

We are not obligated to backup any User Information. You are solely responsible for creating and maintaining your own backup copies of your User Content if you desire.

11. Premium accounts

Details of the individual premium account rights and features, along with the subscription fees are detailed on the pricing page. Individual premium accounts are personal, non-transferable and non-sublicensable.

If you are unsure about the conditions or have questions, please contact our support prior to purchase.

Upon buying a premium subscription (either individual or group), you agree to subscribe for it for the initial subscription period which is 1 year for annual plans and 3 months for quarterly plans. The relevant period starts on the date we accept your offer for a subscription. Premium subscriptions are renewed automatically. You may cancel the automatic renewal of your premium subscription at any time on the account or subscription settings page.

No returns and no refunds will be made with the sole exception of double coverage. In case a user has purchased an individual premium subscription and then received premium access from a group subscription or institution, they will be eligible for a refund for the overlapping duration. Processing fees of 10% of the initial order will be deducted from the refund sum.

Group account administrators can add seats to a subscription at any time. The cost of adding a seat is prorated for the number of days until the end of the current billing cycle. For payment methods that allow delayed charging (credit card and PayPal), the added seats will be activated immediately and the sum charge for all seats added that month will be charged at the end of the month. For other payment methods, it is necessary to manually purchase additional seats through a dedicated checkout link available on the administration page.

Seats added under a group subscription are pre-paid for the billing cycle duration and are not refundable. If a group account has vacant seats at the end of the billing cycle, we will not charge for them in the next cycle. In this case, the subscription will be automatically updated to the number of used seats.

Group account administrators can assign additional administrators to the account. These additional administrators will have the same rights as the original administrator and they are considered representatives of the subscription account owner. Any purchases made by an administrator are binding and will be charged to the group subscription account.

All sales and charges are processed by PayPro Global at their website, including hosting of the checkout page. You agree that PayPro Global on behalf of Connected Papers may process your credit card or PayPal account (or any other payment method you provide) on each billing cycle.

Under the individual Academic subscription and the group Academic subscription (not Business subscriptions), the website may only be used for generally recognized academic and educational purposes, for the sole and personal benefit of the user or a non-profit organization and may not be exploited for profit or used by a for-profit company.

We reserve the right to perform an audit of any user account checking for the following offenses:

• an individual account that was shared between multiple users or
• the account had underpaid subscription fees or
• an Academic account used in a commercial context or
• any other breach of these terms If any such audit reveals said offenses, we are allowed to temporarily or permanently refute the premium status of an offending account after a 1 week notice.

12. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Israel and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that state or location.
